About

2020 saw the start of a brand new transition programme at Newport High School, helping year 7 pupils settle in to life at high school. During these weekly sessions, we worked on teamwork, confidence and communication skills to benefit young people in the community as well as in the school environment. We started the programme in August 2020, which meant we were able to deliver the programme successfully right up until the Christmas holiday period.

The programme has since been renamed the Amber Intervention Programme, as schools have seen the positive impact the sessions have been making and asked to increase the age range right up to year 10 students.
